We Answer Your Power Supply Questions

Chances are, you’re already somewhat familiar with what you need in a medical power supply by the time you’re in the market for one, but you might have a few last-minute questions you need to clear with a manufacturer. Here are the most common power supply questions we get, and our answers.

What are the dimensions of your power supply units?

RAM Technologies has 8 standard medical-grade power supply units available in ATX and SFX form factors. The dimensions are as follows:

SFX Form Factors

Our 650-watt and 175-watt power supplies are both SFX form factors and are 124.5 mm wide x 63.5 mm tall x 127 mm deep (4.9 in wide x 2.5 in tall x 5 in deep)

ATX Form Factors

RAM’s other power supplies are ATX form factors and have the following dimensions:

  • 230, 280, 310, 400, and 600-watt: 150 mm wide x 64 mm tall x 139.7 mm deep (5.9 in wide x 2.520 in tall x 5.5 in deep)
  • 800-watt: 124.5 mm wide x 63.5 mm tall x 127 mm deep (4.9 in wide x 2.5 in tall x 5 in deep)

What is the wattage your power supply units can reach?

Our medical power supplies have max output power between 175 and 800 watts, depending on the model chosen:

What voltages does your power supply output?

Each of our power supplies outputs different wattages, which are as follows:

Do you have a fanless version?

The operating temperature for RAM Technologies’ power supply units is 0 to 50°C. The units are also designed with Smart Fan Technology, an exclusive feature that monitors and changes fan speed based on what is needed. While manufacturers may want to seek out fanless versions, this technology can significantly reduce fan noise in normal operating conditions (from 43dBA to 20dBA, generally).

Where are your products made?

All of our products are made in the United States, making the order and customization process simpler. We also promise that our power supplies will be available throughout the life of your device.

As you may already be able to tell, RAM Technologies’ medical-grade power supplies can accommodate most manufacturer requests. In addition to having popular dimensions, wattage, and voltage outputs, we can also accommodate custom products and cable assemblies
